Reflection: When I read the words, “You were not meant to know earlier. Time was part of the lesson,” something in me settles. For years I asked myself: How did I not see this coming? How did I miss that I might not become a mom? What if I had known sooner? I replayed those questions as if hindsight could rewrite my outcome. It can’t and what I’m beginning to understand is that I truly was not meant to know earlier. If I had known then what I know now, I would not have had the capacity to hold the experience. The grief, the anger, the bargaining, the rebuilding… all of it required time. It’s not my job to fix the pain, but to let it shape me. I believe radical acceptance means acknowledging that the timing was not a personal failure. It was part of my formation. I can’t return to the past, and I can’t control what’s ahead. I only have this moment and maybe that is the lesson: time did not withhold the truth from me. It prepared me for it. -Adriana Rodriguez-Baptiste

Self Care Tip: When grief, anxiety, or anger rises, pause and look at the time and date. Then say out loud, “It’s [day], [date], at [time], and I’m in [place]. I am safe. I am whole. I am healing.”
