Gardening can also provide vitamin D from sunlight exposure, which is important for bone health.Emotional Benefits — Gardening has a calming effect on people. The act of tending to plants can increase feelings of calm and relaxation, boost moods and emotional well-being, and help people feel a sense of accomplishment.
