Reflection: When I first read this quote, I immediately thought about the power of community. So much of life is lived alongside others as we move through expected milestones. Graduations. Careers. Partnerships. Weddings. Children. We imagine our lives unfolding in a certain order, often alongside our peers. But when the milestone of children never arrives, our path can begin to feel very different from the one we expected. Many women tell us it feels as though they've lost their anchor. This wasn't how I thought my life would look. While friends are navigating school drop-offs, birthday parties, and family traditions, you may find yourself wondering where you belong. The silence can be just as painful as the grief itself.

To be held by the eyes of others is to be seen, heard, and understood. It is to have someone who is curious about your life, not because they are trying to solve it, but because they genuinely want to know you. It is to have people who celebrate your joys, witness your heartbreak, and remind you that your life still matters exactly as it is. That is why we created Healing Roots Together.

We created the community we were searching for ourselves. A place where women without children don't have to explain, justify, or minimize their experiences. A place where your grief is welcome, but it isn't the only thing about you. A place where your story is reflected back to you with compassion instead of confusion. As human beings, we are wired for connection. Isolation slowly narrows our world. Community expands it again.

If your path has looked different than you imagined, we hope you'll remember this: your story is still unfolding. There are people you haven't met yet who will understand you. There are places you haven't discovered that will feel like home. There are conversations waiting to remind you that you are not walking this road alone.

And then there is the question so many women quietly ask themselves: What do I do with all of the love I was going to give? The love you carry did not disappear because your life unfolded differently. It is still within you. It can nurture friendships, nieces and nephews, partners, aging parents, animals, gardens, creative work, your community, and even yourself. Love was never meant to exist in only one form. It is still yours to give. Adriana Rodriguez-Baptiste, LCSW
