Reflection: This quote is such a perfect way to look at the journey for women without kids who are trying to find a new sense of identity and peace. When life doesn't unfold the way we thought it would, the distance between what is and what we want in life can feel so massive that we get hit with paralysis. We’re left frozen staring at the entire mountain forgetting that it’s actually just a big pile of stones that we can handle one by one. Sometimes we choose to do nothing because we think that carrying away one stone is meaningless and will have no impact. This is incorrect thinking. The stones accumulate over time and eventually we’ve moved the entire mountain.
This is why it’s so vital to give ourselves credit for the "small" wins. Maybe it was a moment where you actually shared what’s going on with you instead of just being the dependable listener for everyone else, or maybe you turned down an invite because you knew it would be too much for you. Whatever your wins look like, stopping to acknowledge them has to be an intentional practice - otherwise, it’s just way too easy to let the stuff that’s not going right in your world dominate your whole day. But I know that for some of you, the challenge isn't just acknowledging wins - it's knowing where to even begin. If you’re reading this thinking that you don’t even know what it is that you want in life, don't worry. Just having the awareness that you’re unsure is the first stone you pick up. This realization is exactly where you start, and it leads you to the next stone: a simple curiosity about what new things you might like to see in your world. - Caroline Bloss

Self Care Tip: The next time you experience a win, acknowledge it. Then that evening, write out a list of all of your wins from your day. We have to begin practicing noticing the good stuff so that it becomes a habit.
